Crutchy is a crip. He is better then most other crips on the streets because unlike them, he isn't faking it. He walks around with a crutch, if he did not use it he would not be able to walk.

MARTY BELAFSKY has the role of "Crutchy" in Newsies. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Marty got his career started in the television series "Hull High" as the character "Louis Plumb."  Newsies was Marty's first movie, followed by his portrayal of "Young Rob" in 1992's Breaking the Rules. Marty has also appeared in 1993's Wrestling Ernest Hemingway as "Ned Ryan," and in several commercials, including one for Skittles candy
